Hi

In the last couple of days my pc has become riddled with adware and spyware which has resulted in multiple unwanted pop-ups and god knows what else that i am unable to detect at this stage. Prior to the problem i only had avg free and standard windows firewall on my pc to protect it.
I have since installed spybot serach and destroy and zone alarm firewall.

Spybot search and destroy has had a very positive effect, reducing greatly the amount of pop-ups but not entirely. The the pop-ups that are still appearing now do not load a web page at all, they simply stall and generate nothing until i close them.

AVG free is continually detecting the following:

file: core.cache.dsk
result: reading error
path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\core.cache.dsk

SPYBOT search and destroy is continually detecting the following:

problem: smitfraud-c.coreservice, (SBI $9C656B9A) Data, C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\core.cache.dsk



I have read a few other posts relating to this topic but still i would like some help if anyone can give it to me, i would really appreciate it.

This is driving me mental :)


I have downloaded COMBOFIX & OTMOVEIT as I saw these helped out some other people who had this similar problem.
I ran COMBOFIX but after that had finished and rebooted, the pop-ups were still appearing and AVG and SPYBOT are still detecting the same problems

If you're still having trouble, We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool, Hijack This. Follow the instructions in step five of this guide, and reply here with your log.

Most of what Hijack This lists lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

hi

i have followed the guide but not able to get further than the super antispyware stage.

i used the atf cleaner
i created a new system restore point
configured avg anti spyware and scanned in safe mode, then rebooted, the scan result is below

then in windows i ran the super antispyware, and after it asked to reboot it was unable to boot windows normally, so i rebooted with last good known config, the scan result is below

I went through the above process twice until it became obvious i was unable to boot normally after being asked to restart by super antispyware

i ran avg anti virus and it continues to detect the core.cache.dsk error

i have also been on the panda activescan site, it detected threats also

even now as im writing this im getting pop ups for casino, poker and so on
