[anemia]

Over the last few days my windows XP has been infected with Trojan.JS.Pooter.b , Trojan-Downloader.BAT.Ftp.c , and Trojan.Win32.VB.ayo. I've managed to clean the trojan with kaspersky antivirus. But it has already messed up the folder options, command window(cmd) and I am unable to enter regedit. It seems that I am unable to enter into C: normally. I had to right click and select Open, instead of just left clicking it.
I have seen another post by silentser (trojan.win32.vb.ayo @ flash.10.exe @ jambanmu.com) and followed till using Winpfind3u. But have been stuck there. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Just to inform, I tried checking the HijackThis scan,checked
O7 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System, DisableRegedit=1

Then tried to use regedit to export the 'my computer' but failed to extract fully.
I've also tried to use fix.reg (as shown in silentser's post) before reading your reply.
Sorry if I've caused things to be more complicated.

Hello

First, Download LSPFix.exe to a convenient location. Do NOT run this program. This is only to be used if you lose Internet Access after removing NewDotNet.

To Get rid of NewDotNet, go to:

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following:

New.Net Applications or New.Net Domains (anything that says New.Net)

If it is not there, go here and follow Procedure 4: NewDotNet Removal Procedure 4.

In the event that you lose Internet access after removing New.Net, please double-click LSPFix.exe that you downloaded earlier. Check the "I know what I'm doing" button. You will see 2 panels. If there is any file listed in the "Remove" panel on the right-side, leave it as is and just click "Finish>>" then reboot your computer and you should now have access to the Internet. If nothing is listed under the "Remove Panel", do NOT do anything - just close the program. You will need to use another computer to come back here for further instructions on what to do.

• 1 - Flash Drive Disinfector
  Download Flash_Disinfector.exe by sUBs from >here< and save it to your desktop.
• Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it and follow any prompts that may appear.
• The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone. Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well.
• Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
• Reboot your computer when done.

Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran it. Don't delete this folder...it will help protect your drives from future infection.

The computer is running slower than its supposed to. Haven't defragment it in quite a while. Applications such as Realplayer and Windows Media Player seems to crash once in a while. Other applications are fine.

Your logs are clean ! We need to do a few things

• Make sure you have an Internet Connection.
• Double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it.
• Click on the CleanUp! button
• A list of tool components used in the Cleanup of malware will be downloaded.
• If your Firewall or Real Time protection attempts to block OtMoveit2 to rech the Internet, please allow the application to do so.
• Click Yes to beging the Cleanup process and remove these components, including this application.
• You will be asked to reboot the machine to finish the Cleanup process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

You now need to update your Java and remove your older versions.
