Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go ilikebikes

Please disable Microsoft AntiSpyware prior to the following directions please, It may prevent us from being able to remove some of the files we need to remove,

First step:

Download Pocket Killbox by O^E from http://www.atribune....ads/KillBox.exe.

Extract Killbox from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Place the following lines (complete paths) in bold in the "Full Path of File to Delete" box in Killbox, and click the red button with the white X on it after each. Keep track of any files it tells you either could not be found or could not be deleted, as you'll need those later.

c:\windows\system32\fpxxyb.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

Step 2:

Open HijackThis, click the "Scan" button, and check the following files:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [xygtjcx] c:\windows\system32\fpxxyb.exe
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Close all windows except HijackThis and click the 'Fix Checked' button.

Next Reboot into SAFE MODE Make sure you can view all Hidden Files/Folders search for and delete the files highlighted in BOLD

C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
c:\windows\system32\fpxxyb.exe
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Reboot into normal mode, Run this http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ please

Post back a fresh log when done please,

I will tell you that the fix action you suggest above has been tried and it doesn't remove Nail.exe. It simply runs a new executable under a different name and eventually puts nail back somehow. I am at my wits end with this thing. Where in God's name is the fix?

Ok I was expecting to see another file showing up in the log but its not there,

Lets try this one more time,

Open HJT again please, check mark next to the following, with all windows closed except HJT, click fix.

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

Open killbox again please and same way as before have it kill

C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
c\windows\aimckcfkcdf.exe

Let the system reboot,

Run another scan with ewido ,

Post back a fresh log when done please

Your very welcome

Please use the following suggestion to help prevent reinfection

Download the following program, For keeping crap off your system to begin with
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests. Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Download Spyware Blaster

Keep Ad-aware and Spybot handy, Check them for updates prior to running and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,

For an added check run an online virus scan, you can use one of the 2 below,
TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well.
For ease use the following program
Download and install Cleanup
Run "Cleanup" and when it has finished, Reboot

Remeber to Check Windows for updates

Probably a good time to create a new restore point See Here Name it clean or something like that,

As this topic is resolved it will now be closed, should you have any further problems please pm a member of the staff to have it reopened
Thanks
Don
