I repair my XP with XP CD in order to reset the password (I forgot my password). I thought problem solved cos able to log on using new password. But it prompt me to windows product activation:
"copy of windows must be activated with microsoft before you can log on. do you want to activate windows now? "
I don't know how to do it cos I don't have activation code (it is different from product key). Pls help me to skip this activation. pls help.

The CD key and activation code are 2 different things. If you have internet access, just let it activate on its own.
The worst that will happen is it will fail, and you will have to call MS. The activation process will provide all the info you need.

Hello, and welcome to Geeks To Go.
We will not help you to skip the Activation process.
If you have a valid copy of XP simply activate online, Microsoft will give your computer the activation code.
If you do not have a valid copy of XP, buy one.
