Okay, thanks everyone. We'll give this a shot tomorrow and let you know what we determine. I guess I should have come here first before I took it in. You've all been very helpful, and I appreciate it. I'll let you know how our self-test goes.

Some Radio Shack stores carry inexpensive power supply testers...you might consider that, too.
