I am trying to see what processes are being run with Svchost.exe. I followed the instructions at:

http://support.micro...om/?kbid=314056

What I get when I enter the command is that "tasklist" is not an internal or external command.

I don't have a lot of experience with the cmd.exe but I haven't had problems before. am I missing something obvious like a basic typing technique.

I admit that I have been trying to get rid of a messenger virus and I have been 'fiddling with knobs'.

Thanks

XP home?

Xp Home DOES NOT include tasklist as an internal process.

It is one the more idiotic decisions Microsoft made and it makes no sense.

there are other ways of doing that...taskkill and tasklist are incredibly useful, but you can download process explorer from sysinternals and get the same function (and more) in a gui.

I like to use taskkill and tasklist in batch files/scripts, but there even programs that will do that....it's more annoying than crippling
