I am trying to install Java on my computer and I keep getting the same error and I tried everything java .com told me to do. Here is the error message, any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package. :)

Did you download the correct version for 32-bit Windows and not some different version? Go back to the Sun Java website and check.

Melissa, is this where you are downloading from? http://www.java.com/...nload/index.jsp

Edit: Do you have an previous versions of Java installled? If so, remove all of them from Add or Remove Programs.

Are you logged in with an account that has Administrator privileges?
Are you the only user on this computer?
