i know that the windows XP has an /SFC Scannow command that does something with the system file, but i wana kno if there is such a command for windows 2000.

no windows 2000 machines up and running at the moment, but if you look in c:\windows\system32 you will find it if is is present.

Pretty sure it is.....I think only WIndows ME left it out

i had tried that command in dos and in the run with no luck ive only been able to get that command working in wondows XP, unfortunatly, win 98 doesnt have it either. heh...

win 98 does have sfc, you just don't use it in dos....
start > run
sfc
it pops up a gui....or you get it through the system information tool


And in windows 200o you look through the directory for the sfc.exe file?
