I'm am new to geeks to go so forgive me if it is not appropriate to tag along on someone else's problem. I have a similar problem as we3luvdisney--allaboutsearching seems to have taken over my system as well. I ran Ad-Aware and Spybot and deleted what I could but my internet home page still changes on reboot and I get tons of pop ups. I also get 180search Assistant message stating that a needed file is missing. My Hijack This file is as follows:

I've never repaired my computer using Hijack This so unfortunately I'll need a bit of handholding. Thanks for any help you can give.

Sorry we3luvdisney, I didn't think of that. From the posts I've read, the people giving advice are pretty specific in their instructions, so hopefully we won't have a problem.

This might be horribly simplistic, but if I'm not worried about losing other saved info, can XP system restore solve the allaboutsearching problem by restoring the system to a time before the problem started?

Hi elliekev26, welcome to Geeks to Go! <_<

To avoid confusion I've split your posts into a new topic.

It appears you have a trojan in your system. Let's remove that first, then well remove the spyware. :D

Download and run "The Cleaner" trojan scan here:
http://www.moosoft.c...eaner/download/

When finished reboot and post a fresh Hijack This log. :D

Thank you for the repost admin--

I have run "The Cleaner" and the Ezula and BookSpace trojans were revealed. Both were cleaned. Hijack This now reads:

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.
O16 - DPF: {10000000-1000-0000-1000-000000000000} - file://C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\brudlocd.exe

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log, and let us know how your system's working. <_<

Congratulations! Your system is CLEAN <_< How's your system working?

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use).

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.
Link to SpywareBlaster: http://www.geekstogo...tion=show&id=12

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.

It's okay to delete the Hijack This folder if everything is working okay.
