Hello, and welcome to Geeks To Go.
Does your external hard drive have its own power source, or is it USB powered?

Can you enter BIOS (press F2 while booting the machine) and look to see if the external drive is recognized?

answer to hfcg :
Yes, my bios can regconize my harddisk, showing its model name in bios.
answer to happyrck :
i havent try it on any other computer yet since im having the problem with writting files into it, instead of harddisk detection. detection is not a problem, the problem lies in the writting part. mayb i should try on other pc?

Did you install any software for this hard drive?
If so please uninstall it.
If not we need to update the driver.
Can you go to the manufactures web site and look for the correct driver?
