Hello I need help figuring out what to do with my computer.

My computer is staying where the computer loads to turn on for example when the bar is loading and it says Windows XP. My computer is a Compaq Presario.

I am currently on Safe Mode with Networking and have no idea what to do to run my computer normally. Help? :)

Hi Skomro, welcome to G2G.

Since you are able to boot to Safe Mode with Networking, this should not be too hard to fix.

First, run chkdsk and see if that fixes it.

Click on Start then Run, type chkdsk c: /r and press Enter or click OK. Reply Yes when asked if you want this to occur on the next boot. Shutdown and reboot, see if that fixes it.

If not, boot to Safe Mode again and use System Restore to go back to a date before this happened.

Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools and finally System Restore.

This MS article has a lot of good information on using System Restore:
