i have lost the cds that came with my laptop and i want to set my computer back to how it was when i had first bought it. there is a system restore but only dates back a few months, any ideas on what to do??

Toshiba will probably be able to provide you with some for a cost.
Or you can borrow an XP CD for whatever version of Windows XP your licence is valid for, bearing in mind this will not provide any software that the machine came with originally.

some laptops have a restore partition...if yours does then its easy to just select it by tapping F12 usually..read the first screen at the bottom..be sure you already have ALL the data backed up because this is going to wipe the drive clean...like the day you bought it..
