Hello, and welcome to Geeks To Go.
Instead of using the F10 function to restore your computer, It would be best to create a set of recovery disc.
The paper that you removed to take the computer out of the box gives instructions on how to do this.
After you make the recovery disc, restore the computer with the disc. (following the written instructions).
Please put the recovery disc in a secure place for safe keeping.

it came with a booklet no papers how to restore it . and it says to do it with F-10 . i know how to do everything with xp pro but completely lost with vista i cant even find where u restore to earlier date . my problem was i couldnt play some games at bigfish.com and they sent me all these things to try to do and i am afraid i screwed the whole system up. when i do go to F10 it says follow directions but i dont see directions to follow.

Your documentation for the computer should tell you how to make a recovery disc set.
There are infections that will cause this kind of issue.
I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a HiJackThis Log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a HJT log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.
If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
