Hello

I've decided to come to the pros for help. It would seem that I've got an infested computer. I really don't know what I have as several things are happening to my computer. Like when I'm online visiting a site thumbnails and buttons will change and look like they're downloading stuff on to my computer. I'll get pop ups from IE (I use Firefox) from adult sites or pop ups telling me my computer is infested and that I need to click the button to clean it (usually for free), some even claiming to be from Microsoft (I never click on any of them). The computer being slower then usual and web sites not looking correct (this one for example lacks all the cells and divisions that make up a forum). I run AVG free edition and just about everyday it'll detect a Trojan or something.

I followed the the sticky of what to do before I make a post here so I ran all the spyware programs and did a Panda scan too and have the logs too.

We've gone a long time with out any problems with our computer and generally surf the same sites that we've always gone to so I'm stumped as to how this all happened.

Any help on what steps I should take text would be great and I'll posy what ever logs are requested.

Thank you. ^_^

Hello hondo

Welcome to G2Go. :)
==================
* Click here to download HJTsetup.exe
  • Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Hijack This.
  • Click on I agree
  • Then Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Download ComboFix from one of the locations below, and save it to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Uninstall the Mbam program and then:

Time for some housekeeping
  • Click START then RUN

    [list]
  • Posted Image

The above procedure will delete and do the following:

  • ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
  • VundoFix backups, if present
  • The C:\Deckard folder, if present
  • The C:_OtMoveIt folder, if present
  • Reset the clock settings.
  • Hide file extensions, if required.
  • Hide System/Hidden files, if required.
  • Clean System Restore points.

Also delete\uninstall anything that we used that is left over.

Awesome kahdah

Thank you very much. I'm going to read that link about how to protect ourselves and hopefully not have to go through all this again.

Thanks again for all your help. If I need any in the future I'll be sure to come here for it.
