I have an IBM Aptive with 256 and 5.59 gb available. Can I add more gb's and is it worth it. Or should I just buy a new computer?

here are some thoughts:

if the pc does everything you want from a computer - keep it.
if you get a new one - keep it, stay off the net with the old one and use it to archive any files you "can't lose".
or if you get a new one - give your old one to a friend, a school, ...
