I have a 256mb SanDisk SD memory card that is about 4 years old and used in a HP camera. I removed it from camera and put in San Disk card reader attached to a Lenovo T60 laptop. I could see all my photos, found the one I needed and sent on an e-mail. I then went out for awhile and computer timed out. I could not get sd card to show up on Windows Exploerer after bringing out of sleep mode. I tried other computers including my HP desktop which has built in reader and the only thing I ever got was Disk needs formatted. I even put back in camera and got the disk needs formatted screen. Is there anyway to get those photo's back? I see/hear on www and tv that deleted is not deleted and data is still on there, who could do that or is it just done in the movies? (forgot to save off and photos go all the way back to Xmas). Thanks

Welcome to Geeks2Go! sigmatuan

I guess you'll be backing up your pics as soon as possible from now on then?
The following rescue utilties may help, but I've never had need of any of them so please don't take this as a recommendation.
The free trials allow you to 'see' any images it finds, but you need to buy a serial key to be able to copy them to another location.
Free software for memory card recovery eludes me I'm afraid, in the time I have available to search for it, though I'm sure it does exist.

Thanks, I tried searching before my post but wasn't using terminology near what it was called. I searched for freeware card recovery and got to Convar PC Smart Inspector recovery. Downloaded from PC World, but since see it at www.pcinspector.de. I would recommend it.
