I just finished fixing the MBR from my XP Pro w/SP2 disk.
I needed to do it because of pop ups stating it was busted.
It apparently is ok because I'm still able to use my pc.
However, I was also getting another pop up when I was trying to install snapshot/restore programs.
It stated that Windows Installer was not working or I was in Safe Mode.
I'm not in Safe Mode.
When I did the MBR I looked for a listing for Windows Installer but didn't see one.
How does a novice fix this? SP2 is on the XP disk and I believe Windows Installed is part of SP2.
Thanks.

Dial-a-fix is an advanced utility for 32-bit versions of Microsoft Windows written by DjLizard in Borland Delphi 7 that repairs various Windows problems, such as:
  • Windows Update, Windows Installer, Automatic Updates, etc.
  • SSL, HTTPS, and Cryptography service (signing/verification) issues
  • COM/ActiveX object errors and missing registry entries
  • and more.
Download it and give it a try: http://wiki.djlizard....net/Dial-a-fix

Ztruker,
Thanks for the help.
I was able to repair the installer and install the program which now does not work.
Possibly a lingering problem with the installer.
I've sent Horizon Datasys a request for help. I'll see how it goes.
Thanks for your help.

Did Dial-a-fix repair the Installer or did you find some other way to repair it?

Ztruker,
Thanks.
Dial a Fix worked for me.
I've got a problem with the software I am trying out but I'm waiting for their support desk to respond.
Enjoy the day.
