Hello,

I'm working with Rorschach112 here on geekstogo.com in an attempt to remove a heavily imbedded infection. As part of the cleaning process, I ran combifix which restarted my computer upon completion. The subsequent boot hung and displayed the following message:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
<Windows root>\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file.

If I hit the enter key, it restarts but always brings me to the same point.

Please advise.
Thanks, Bill
