I have been having trouble with my computer for a while. When I try to do updates on my computer and says my ActiveX is not working or I don't have it. I don't know what happened. I have anohther problem as well with my computer but I want to fix it one at a time.

Is there anyone able to help me? :)

Can you post your other problem? These may be related in some way.

ActiveX is a component of Internet Explorer. Are you using IE6 or IE7?

My other problem? well I am not sure if they are related cause it was working even after the ActiveX wasn't working. My other problem is with my Digital Camera, I can't download my pictures on here like I used to. It just keeps sayin it's not plugged in or something and I been fiddling with the plugs and it ain't the plugs. When my sister downloaded my scanner on here and I uninstalled the scanner and accidently uninstalled something to my camera now it wont let me download my pictures. :)

and I am running the IE6 can't run the IE7 cause you have to have windowxp don't you?

No, you don't need XP Pro to run IE7 but staying at IE6 is a good thing in my opinion. Others will disagree though :)

Try the following. Start IE, click on Tools then Manage Add-ons. Disable all the addons listed.

Now see if you can do your updates. If that doesn't work, try this:

To update the ActiveX controls, open IE.
  • Click on Tools then Internet Options.
  • In the Temporary Internet Files area, click Settings.
  • To view the ActiveX controls installed on the computer, click View Objects.
  • Right-click each ActiveX control, and then click Update.
