One thing that I like to do before I buy any hardware is to look at some reviews on it from other people who have purchased it before me. Typically, I use Newegg for this but Amazon also works.

For example, on Newegg (link), people have given this router a 4 out of 5 eggs which is not bad. You also have to consider only 41 people have reviewed it.
