Call of Duty 4 Crashes/Sound Issues

When I'm playing call of duty 4, I keep randomly crashing. Game runs fine and then all of the sudden my computer freezes and I am forced to reboot. Here is a screenshot of my settings under options. Also, my sound keeps screwing up and the commanders sometimes repeat themselves and it gets choppy. Thanks. I also have 76 processes running, and I don't know where they're coming from...
