wireless connection problem

hello please help!!! I have a just put in a Tiscali Siemens gigaset SE587 for wireless connection. My main desktop Pc (win XP) is wired in and works ok. I have a IBM thinkPad (win 2000) with intel pro/wireless LAN 2100 3B mini PCI adapter which I cant get to connect. I have checked that the adapter is working and enabled via add/remove hardware. Tiscali said they couldnt help. Anyone out there that can help me?? PLEASE :)

When you are looking at the different wireless connections on the Window Wireless Manager are you seeing you wireless connection listed on there??
