50% off the time my cpu usage is 100% and i am running
System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Media center Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2
my computer will automaticly freeze and when i press ctrl alt delete the cpu is 100% and it wont go down a inch and i opened processes and it was comping from System and sometimes system idle process please help i cant stand my computer from freezeing i get frustrated

One possible solution (though I stress, 100% cpu usage can have many causes): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555021

Bad device drivers can also cause it. Make sure yours are up to date.

malware is another possible cause...
Please go to the malware forum Start HERE....

That will help you clean up 80 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty (and you may not be) then start a new topic in the MALWARE FORUM forum here...
if/when they say you are clean post back here and we can proceed
