I see there is a download available for Vista - Service Pack 1? Has anybody had much experience with this good or bad? Has it trashed your system? Would I be wise to download it? Thank you. -J

It is always recommended to download the latest Service Packs released by Microsoft, as generally they will improve system performance, security and other factors.

It's always recommended BY MICROSOFT. That doesn't necessarily mean it is always a good idea.

All you have to do is make sure your drivers are updated to atleast compatible versions for SP1, but I'd suggest the latest ones, and then Vista SP1 should be just fine. Installing it might take a while and you might find is strange on the go but tbh, if you have your system running stable right now updating to Vista SP1 will not harm you and it even might improve your vista-experience.

I've had nor problems myself and most problems generated by it are driverproblems.
