After many years of fatal exceptions this is one I can't fix, not yet anyway, When I start system gives fatal error message after running virus scan (avg) and when loading up desktop. I manually turn off and then system runs Scandisk and does registry check - registry check says it has found error and fixed from backed up files. Still get the same fatal error message and start over again and over again, had a look on microsoft and various other sites listing VXD VMM probs most relate to 95 can not find a fix anybody got any ideas.
thx

I was able to start in safe mode and have installed a program that updates Windows 95 DLC Protocal driver which I found on microsoft site which was specific to Win 95 however it seems to have worked all looks good so far, was just about to cast this desktop out, it would make a good boat anchor. Should not say that as this thing has given me almost 7 years off service, thx for the interest guys now i just have to work out why all of a sudden I cant any longer open pdf files no matter which browser i use, thats for a different post i suppose.
Thx again

download hijacthis from our downloads, spyware section

run it

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [KB891711] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\KB891711\KB891711.EXE

If the problem returns, check to see if you've got the above running, check it, hit FIX and see if that stops it

let's back way up...

your log looks OK, but it was done with an old version of hijack...that said, I'm not interested in malware at the moment.

Two questions.
Do you have a windows CD

what is the exact error message at startup?
