I came here from this thread: http://www.geekstogo...en-t193584.html

I want to repair or reinstall windows but I want to backup some files first.

I took my harddrive to a buddies house and I cannot access my user folders in the Documents and Settings folder.

It says not accessible / Access denied. How do I make it accessible? I want to back those files up.

Thanks in advance.

Never mind... found this on Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810881

Just gotta wait and see until the process is done.

Other PC is taking ownership of files at the moment.

I'll let you's know if it works.
