itunes/quicktime problems

my itunes/quicktime wont startup at all,have uninstalled and installed countless times but no go!now quicktime wont uninstall at all saying "fatal error during insallation"...this all started happening after running Secunia and trying to update software.i have feeing quicktime is to blame,any help would be gratefull.
(also ive lost most of my restore points:confused:)......jack

Try following the instructions listed here: http://www.geekstogo...le-t169828.html

This will allow you to remove itunes. You can also remove quicktime by following the same instructions. Once removed you should be able to reinstall.
