Another Method of Speeding Up Firefox

Go to "Start" "Run" and type in the following (with the quotes):

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -P

This should open a new, small box that allows you to add a new profile. Click "Create" and name it whatever you like. Make sure that the "Do Not Ask at Startup" checkbox is selected and click "Start Firefox." Your add-ons should be gone since you now have a new profile, but they may of course be reinstalled. You should now have a much faster browser!

Very useful tip, except that I wouldn't use it myself due to the fact that I use my addons very often and would not like them uninstalled. FireTune is a good program though. That, or look for addons that optimize Firefox. Not sure how well they work but I know of one called Fasterfox.

This is actually a very good hint when you're in the need of opening a browser just to check something really quick. However, one of the reasons I like Firefox so much is the add-ons. I wouldn't browse normally without them.
It's a great hint nonetheless.

I like to use PicLens alot on YouTube. If you don't have it I would recommend giving it a try! I like FireFox a lot better than IE......

Add-ons are little things you can add to your browser.

For example I use the following :

McAfee Site Advisor - this tells you whether sites are safe to visit or not. Very handy when doing googling searches as it prevents me from going to bad sites

Foxytunes - lets me control my music player via my browser so I don't need to be constantly switching around to it.

Have a look at the Firefox site for some add-ons you may like.

For a quick look at a website I use the K-Meleon browser. It comes with a preloader, wich reduces program startup time. If you don't want the preloader you can install K-Meleon without it. Then it still is a fairly fast browser, especially so if you don't load it with add-ons.

In order to create a new profile, you use the Profile Manager. To start the Profile Manager in Windows, follow these steps:

1. Close Firefox completely (select File > Exit from the main menu of Firefox).
2. Select Start > Run... from the Windows Start menu.
3. Enter firefox.exe -ProfileManager and press OK.

You should now see the Profile Manager window, shown in the screenshot to the right.

From the Profile Manager you are also able to remove and rename profiles. Be very careful when deleting profiles; if you created the profile in an directory that already existed, the entire directory will be removed!

Click on the Create Profile... button to start the Create Profile Wizard. Click Next and enter the name of the profile, e.g. your name or something descriptive.

You can also choose where on the disk you want the profile to be stored, which is useful if you plan on exporting your settings to another computer or setup in the future. If you choose a custom location for the profile, always create a new/clean directory and select that directory.

Finally, click Finish to have Firefox create the new profile.

If you want to run Firefox without any Addons , you just go to START > PROGRAMS > MOZILLA FIREFOX > and choose the Program MOZILLA FIREFOX (Safe Mode).
Fx will run as a Default Installation without Theme , Addons , whatever . This would seem the barebones setup , can't see it would be quicker than my Uber Geeked Profile however ?
Fastefox Addon - utilises some MozDev suggestions for pipelining , cache size , and speeds up performance . If you have a fast connection really I can't see you should use such an App though as it can seriously affect the visited websites Bandwidth .
Some cool suggestions already listed on G2G Forum Here

Ahh, thank you.

I'm gonna try this right now and see if it works.

Hopefully it will because my Firefox is a little slower than it usually is at the moment.
