Since the MB supports the 1333 FSB i think this processor would do just as well as the e6600.

It does 2 things. Saves you $60 and has a faster front side bus. Using a quad core does not really make it any faster. I have a quad core and its not any faster than even my dualcore e2200 that i can notice.

And, of course, i would think about getting a Creative Audigy sound card in the mix. I love my 5.1 system when i'm playing games.

If you're on a budget...but want some punch...get the 9600....I've seen them as low as 169...so you're not extending your budget too far.

It's aftermarket...but fanless....has the cooler built in already!! Can't beat that price....and Core Clock is 680MHz compared to the 320MHz you have listed on your purchase list.

The Thermaltake he got isn't great but their more high end PSUs are amongst the best on the market (but overpirced). Any specific reason for this distrust?

Nearly every Thermaltake PSU has more ripple then competitors, some are down right terrible. This PSU for an example has a ripple of 100mV, that's almost going out of spec. As far as high end units go, I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the units aren't quite as good as they appear. Remember, most reviewers are not able to draw more then 800W, so if you are testing a 1KW PSU, you aren't putting the PSU under full load.

Toughpower is Thermaltakes better line of PSUs, Purepower is Thermaltakes poorer PSUs (not to be confused with Purepower RX).
Lastly, take a look at the efficiency, it's 10% lower then the Silverstone.
Please note, the PSU selected is not the better line (refresh) of Purepower Rx that sport the model number W0144RU.

Thermaltakes aren't terrible (not great either), but when you compare them to their competitors, that are normally +/-10$, there is no reason to suggest them in the majority of the situations.

thanks for the replys. This is the first system Im going to take part in building. Since the purchase is already made.. is there gonna be a big problem with my PSU. I respect James and the others opinions. How long do u think this PSU is going to last me before i need to purchase another one ?

Also, I have not looked into any fans/heatsinks of any sort yet and I was wondering if I will need them. If so, please suggest. THANKS AGAIN.

Could have done a bit better but there is nothing wrong with it all. Looks like it has a 5yr warranty so you can always RMA it if it quits working again. It's a toss up on the life of a power supply.

How does "RMA" actually work. Do I just inform Newegg or the actual PSU company. Who do I send it back to afterwards ? If it does quit on me in the future... just wanna know

Unless it is the first two weeks or 3 days of OEM products, it will be returned to the manufacturer. All manufacturers have their RMA procedure posted on their website.

Is there no way for you to change your DVD-drive to what James suggested? The one you have is an IDE and the one James suggested is SATA which is a lot better (smaller cable).
