I keep getting prompted to install this update to Service Pack 2(see below)

Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB936181)

I have not had any other problems with updates until this.
Im attaching a hijack this log for review in case you see anything that is preventing this.

For the update issue, try this:

In my case, during the trial routines of uninstalling previous versions
(and the current version 936181) using Add or Remove Programs, I
somehow overlooked the little extra program in the Programs list "Msxml
4.0 Parser (0.06mb)" that was positioned immediately below the other
Msxml 4.0 installations.

I've no idea what a Parser is or does, but after deleting this (in
addition to all
previous versions of msxml 4.0 --including 936181-- ) it seems I was
finally able to download and install 936181 correctly using the auto
update function- the annoying yellow shield is gone now, after having
re-booted..and the microsoft update site tells me there are no
outstanding patches needed.

Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if found:

Rebate_Nation

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following if they still exist and hit 'Fix Checked' after you checked the last one:

O8 - Extra context menu item: Coupons - file://C:\Program Files\couponsandoffers\System\Temp\couponsandoffers_script0.htm
O8 - Extra context menu item: Rebate Nation - file://C:\Program Files\Rebate_Nation\Sy5300\Tp5300\scri5300a.htm

Locate the following Files/Folders and delete them if they exist (if no location given, just do a search for them):

C:\Program Files\Rebate_Nation\

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here.

I have removed the items and attached another hijack this log for your review.
I also removed all the msl programs on the add/remove programs. I could not find the parser program though and did find msxml 4.0 936181. I tried to remove it but it would not let me and it said the path c:\3c9575867e3191d38514124212\ could not be found and try and find the installation package msxml. msi in a folder to install this product.

You can uninstall Viewpoints Media via the Add/Remove Programs panel also if you don't use it (comes bundled with programs like AIM/AOL).

This is a Windows related issue. If this is the only issue that remains, please post in the Windows XP board for more support.
