I emailed the company and asked how to remove the program.
They sent me back a generic email to use their uninstaller which I was leery about.
So I asked for manual instructions and the following is what I recieved.

Thank you for contacting Outerinfo Support.

Outerinfo can also be manually stopped by removing its Run keys. These
are instructions which tell Windows to load Outerinfo when your
computer starts.

a) Click on ‘Start’

b) Click on ‘Run’

c) Type “regedit” and press enter

d) Click on the plus symbol to the left of
‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER’

e) Under ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER’ click on the plus symbol to the
left of ‘Software’

f) Under ‘Software’ click on the plus symbol to the left of
‘Microsoft’

g) Under ‘Microsoft’ click on the plus symbol to the left of
‘Windows’

h) Under ‘Windows’ click on the plus symbol to the left of
‘CurrentVersion’

i) Under ‘CurrentVersion’ click Run

j) You must delete two of the keys now listed in the right
window pane. One contains ‘-vt’ in the middle and the other a ten
digit number at the end. If you don’t see the keys in question or are
concerned you might delete the wrong file, please send us a screen shot*
and we’ll assist you.

k) After removing these keys, please restart your computer and
run http://www.outerinfo...Uninstaller.exe

* To take a screen shot, press ‘Print Screen’ on your keyboard.
Then simply right click on the body of an email message to us and click
on “Paste”

I wanted to share this with all AND ask will just the REG edit do it?
Do i still need to run the uninstaller?

Thanks

Welcome to GTG.

Thanks for sharing that. Unfortunately, it takes more than just removing the registry entries for this problem. There are also other files/folders associated with it and we tend to steer away from using uninstallers created by their owners :)

If you want, we can take a quick look and hopefully can remove outerinfo in one shot....

Go to http://www.bleepingc...to-use-combofix and follow the instructions on how to install the Recovery Console and run ComboFix. Go through all the steps until posting the log part. Post the combofix log here.
