Just what is Jave? Is it necessary to have on one's PC? Does one need it for game playing or other programs? And what site is the best to download if Java is needed? Am confused by the info out there about Java.

Thanks so much Murray - certainly cleared away some of the cobwebs of confusion for me. Yes, surf the web a great deal and so would like to see things. Also would like to have if necessary for game playing. Again thanks for info and site to download.
