Description Of Problem
As soon as i log in, two instances of iexplore.exe will start up, one running at 5,000K and the other uses 99% of CPU to carry out a task that seems to do nothing but hog memory. the problem only stops when i delete both instances of iexplore.exe from my task manager, if i only close the CPU hog, it opens again within ~3 seconds, and continues lagging. When the problem is solved i have tried opening internet explorer 7, which opens fine after a few seconds so i assumed this error is due to malware of some kind. NOD32 and ZoneAlarm havent told me anything of much use. hope you can help me out :)

Hi :).

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

Next,

Please Download NoLop to your desktop from the link below...
Link 1
  • First close any other programs you have running as this will require a reboot
  • Now click the button labelled "Search and Destroy"
<<your computer will now be scanned for infected files>>
  • When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK
  • Now click the "REBOOT" Button.
  • A Message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish Please Post the contents of C:\NoLop.log, C:\vundofix.txt along with a fresh HijackThis log, but you have to rename Hijackthis BEFORE make the log (Right click on Hijackthis.exe and select 'Rename', rename it to filter.exe).
--If you receive an error, "mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies are not correctly registered," please download mscomctl.ocx to your system32 folder then rerun the program. --
