WinXP drivers for HP pavilion dv2500?

Hello, i just bought a HP pavilion dv2500 w/ windows vista home. i decied to install Windows XP, i did so, and downloaded all the drivers for Windows Xp for the dv2000 series from the HP site.

i cant install video, sound, ethernet drivers. please help!

Was it an install of the drivers or did you just download them to a specific folder.

Did you try using device manager to update your drivers?

Right click my computer
Click properties
open hardware tab
click device manager

How many have '?' or '!' on them.
Usually in yellow, easy to spot too.

yes i've tried to update the drivers from the device manager, and nothing.

(all with yellow marks, !, ?)

- UNKNOWN DEVICE
- VIDEO CONTROLLER (VGA COMPATIBLE)

i successfully installed the following:
Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp33566)
NVIDIA nForce Chipset Driver
AMD Processor Update for Microsoft Windows XP

all found at: http://h10025.www1.h...r...074&lang=en

thanks for your help.

note:
i get the following error when triying to install any of the rest drivers (like network, video..)
"Driver installation failed: could not find the MEDIA device for this driver"

update your chipset drivers...go here and select the right model number...

could not find chipset drivers on the link you gave me (http://h10025.www1.h...product=3369421)

plus in that page i cant get sound drivers?

Let it search windows update.
If no go with windows update then click
'install from a list or specific location'.
Point it to the folder that was created when you downloaded the driver.

don't worry you'll get it...at some point it will just click for you... :) BTW your doing good..!!!
when there are lots of drivers missing its usually the chipset ...that one should always be done first...

Installation of the chipset seemed to work. ill post more after finishing the installs
