An HP tech recommended that I install ComboFix.exe to correct an RUNDLL error message that keeps creeping up. I tried to download it and an error message poped up telling me that this was not a valid windows 32 application. How can I remove this RUNDLL error message other than trying to download invalid applications. In other words is there a valid application for windows 32 that I can download to remove this pesky error message that I encountered when I deleted a paretologic file. Please advise me as to what to do to remove it.

Hello ElRatonMickey...

I would recommend that you not use ComboFix without the guidance of someone trained in it's use...it's a very powerful tool. The HP tech should never have recommended it to you unless they were ready to walk you through the process of using it correctly.

Let our malware people help you get your machine fixed up...they are trained in using ComboFix and numerous other tools that will help them help you clean your machine up and get it running properly again.

Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions you'll find there.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- post a hijackthis log in THAT forum. Do Not reply to or "bump" your own topic...if it shows a reply, it may be overlooked as one that is being worked on.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

Wannabe 1, the program you suggest I download comes with virus system and I already have one that I am very satisfied with. How do I get around downloading what you suggest and not have a conflict with my regular AntiVirus system.
