I am about to buy a new pc and would like to know the easiest way to copy everything over. Apart from disk imaging, is there an alternative way.

Cheers

Depends on what you mean by everything :)

You can network them together using a Ethernet crossover cable, a USB cable made for doing this (name escapes me at the moment), dump everything from the old machine on CDs, DVDs or large flash drives, or install a router and simply copy the files you want by sharing them on the old computer.

You could also upload all you stuff to one of the many online storage sites then download again as needed.

Lots of options, depends on your needs, how much data you're talking about and if your willing to spend any money or not.
