laptop woes

hard drive died [making crazy noise] in my toshiba sat pro 6100 laptop. got new hard drive and xp pro disk in drive to install os put cd rom first to boot in bios and still getting pxe-e61:media test failure,check cable.pxe-mof:exiting intel pxe rom. insert system disk in drive. press any key when ready.over and over again.
