I was infected several days ago with this mess and I have been trying to clean it up! At first, I had pop ups every 30 mins or so directing me to a website selling spyware removers. I had a yellow triangle in the task bar that when clicked, directed me to another spyware remover website. My task manager was locked out by the administrator. I had many icons show up on the desktop, including one called Trojan.W32.blackbird.

So far I have updated and run Spybot, Adaware, and my Avira antivirus. I also have Spyware Blaster updated and running. Spybot and Adaware found several critical objects and I removed them. Since then, there have been no pop ups or yellow triangle and the task manager opens. Avira continued to find a file called TR/DropAgent.44032 however. Panda's active Scan continued to freeze on a temp file at 23% complete. I just got an alert from Avira that TR/FakeAlert.PB has been found as I write this. I quarantined it.

This morning, I followed the instructions on the You Must Read This Before Posting an HJT log thread as follows:

1. ATF cleaner downloaded and run
2. New Restore Point created
3. Malwarebyte's downloaded and run
4. Superantispyware downloaded and run. 31 items were found and deleted and log files have been saved.
5. Panda Scan ran fine this time and there were no items found. However, this took all of 20 seconds at most. I found that a little disconcerting, like perhaps it didn't work correctly?
6. Windows is set to autoupdate, but I checked the website and our computer shows up to date.
7. Reboot test seems to be ok. Things are running smoothly so far.

I just want to double check my system and make sure we are all in the clear. I am concerned about the continuing alerts from Avira. Thanks!

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.

• Close all other windows before proceeding.
• Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
• When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
