This is not going to happen w/o doing something drastic like dropping the video card. It was a nice attempt though.

I would got with this CPU over the Q6600: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819115037.

If you plan on overclocking don't get that mobo and case. Otherwise it will do just fine and I don't think you will need the extra fan either.

Looks nice considering the budget.

Edit: Don't forget about an operating system if you don't already have one.

Edit 2: Read your first post wrong originally thinking you were over budget to start with.

That board is an excellent choice. I was disappointed when I saw your link to the EP35-DS3L because the P35-DS3L used to take the price spot. The EP35-DS3L still looks like a good choice for those not interested in OCing.

witched that and then I switched the MOBO to This Because i have 1066 ram.

Both boards you have selected support 1066Mhz RAM.

Are you not forgetting the operating system which goes for $90 for XP and around $100 for OEM Vista Premium.

Hi there,

2 points stick out here:

  • I thought you already had 1066 RAM? Why are you purchasing another set of 800MHz?
  • You might want to be careful purchasing an "Open Box" motherboard. Make sure the warranty terms are good.
And also, your "speakers" link does not work, you need to fix it. This is the correct link:
http://www.outletpc.com/c5187.html

But of course, it depends on your uses. Most motherboards come with good onboard audio these days. The ASUS you have selected has a Realtek audio chip capable of 7.1 surround sound.

Cheers

Your original build was good and there was no reason to change it.
