I use an open source 3D modeling program called Blender (www.blender.org) From what I've heard, although I haven't actually used any of the big programs, Blender is lot simpler then, say, Maya or 3Ds Max. That said, it's taken me about 4 years to learn, and I still don't know all the ropes and tricks to it!

Here's some pics I've done with it...

The first three are obviously pics of a castle I modeled, and the third is a replica of Qui-Gon Jinn's lightsaber from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace

So, anyone else use Blender?
