Reloaded XP and screen refresh rate, extremely slow

first time reloading xp on this computer. had it for 2 years. did a system repair about 1 year ago, but it just crashed yesterday, luckily i had backup.

however now that im back onto the desktop, the screen refresh rate is really slow. im pretty sure its not the ram. basically whenever i have a screen window and i move it accross the screen, it has a VERY delayed reaction. similarly, such as scrolling down a screen on IE, it has a really delayed reaction displaying the content below, about 1 second.

CPU - Intel Pentium Core 2 DUO E6300 (1.86GHz, 2MB cache)
Hard Disk - Seagate Barracuda SATA II 320GB (8MB cache 7200RPM)

stevo632 came to the Live Chat! with his problem and we helped him find and install his video card driver which resolved his issue.
