I'm building my first pc from all new parts and have what may seem to be a foolish question.
I remember reading somewhere that it was a good idea to install board and graphics card drivers before installing the OS.
Is this even possible at the novice level?
And is it better to do this?
To me it doesn't make sense but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks.

You have to install the OS first before the graphics card or chipset drivers.
