My internet has decided to discontinue working (at the perfect time too :) ). I have router that is providing internet (that works) to an older Compaq notebook and an ancient IBM desktop, but all of a sudden, not to my XP desktop. Everything is still connected fine (cables and all) and I have done nothing out of the blue, just as I turned on my computer, I cannot connect to the internet! In the bottom right corner there is a icon for Local Area Connection 3 and its status is "Limited or no connectivity", I have never seen this before. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Go to device manager and locate your network card and then uninstall it and reboot. Let windows redetect your network card.

Then go to Start | Run... and type: cmd and in the dos box type: ipconfig /all and post the results.
