External Hard Drive Help

I bought a simpletech 250g external hard drive which contains all of my music files. I plugged it in the other day and it wont work it says i need a driver and its a plug and play device i have no clue what to do when in device manager it has a question mark by the drive and says unknown devive anyone have advice
