Hi all, hope you can help.
My computer is running XP Pro and I've got a Freecom 400 GB external hard drive connected that is about 58% full.

However, every time I click on the drive to open it and look at the files, the computer freezes up. The drive just won't open in normal browsing.

I can access files on the drive through other programs though.

I've had the drive just over 18 mths and this problem has only just started to happen.

The drive has never been moved from the position it is in, so I don't think I've damaged it.

Can anyone give me any advice as to what might be wrong with the hard drive?

Any help or advice would be most appreciated... :)
