Hello Mietone and welcome to Geeks to Go.

Before we get underway, you may wish to print these instructions for easy reference during the fix, although please be aware that many of the required URLs are hyperlinks in the red names shown on your screen. Part of the fix will require you to be in Safe Mode, which may not allow you to access the Internet, or my instructions!

You definitely have a couple of bits of spyware lurking, but you also have a sign of a possibly very serious infection, Vx2. For that reason, I propose using an automated programme that may also fix other problems at the same time, but erring on the side of caution, I have written the instructions as though the automated programme does not correct the existing problems. You may understand that better when you come to fix and can’t find what you’re looking for. Now if you are ready, let’s get fixing!

To start please download the following programmes, we will run them later. Please save them to a place that you will remember, I suggest the Desktop:
CCleaner
Ewido Security Suite

Please open Spybot S & D. Please turn off Resident Teatimer. Do this by clicking Mode at the top of the screen, choose Advanced Mode then Tools and then Resident and unchecking Teatimer. It will hinder our attempts to clear out some files that need to be removed.

Please also disable SpywareGuard so that it is not running in the background during the fix. I don’t know the product well enough to give a tutorial on it, but the easy way is to either look in the taskbar at the bottom tight of your screen and click the icon and choose disable or something similar, or to open the Task Manager (press Ctrl, Alt, Del together) look in Processes, highlight it and click end process.

Install Ewido, Update it and Scan Everything. When it finds the first infection it will sound an alarm and stop. At that point check the box for it to perform this action for all infections (bottom left). At the end of the scan, you can choose to Save Report, please do so and send it with your next post.

This could take quite a while to complete, so get yourself a cup of tea and relax.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D80C4E21-C346-4E21-8E64-20746AA20AEB} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DeskAd Service] C:\Program Files\DeskAd Service\DeskAdServ.exe
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINNT\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINNT\web\related.htm
O16 - DPF: {15AD4789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://static.windup.../bridge-c18.cab
O23 - Service: ZESOFT - Unknown owner - C:\WINNT\zeta.exe

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Please now reboot into safe mode. Here's how:

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap the F8 key. A menu should appear where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel (if present):(click Start>Settings>Control Panel)

Windupdates

Please notify me of any other programmes that you don’t recognise in that list in your next response

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Please delete this folder (if present) using Windows Explorer:

C:\Program Files\DeskAd Service\

Please delete these files (if present) using Windows Explorer:

C:\WINNT\web\related.htm
C:\WINNT\zeta.exe

Close Windows Explorer and Reboot normally.

Now we must hide the files we revealed earlier by reversing the process, this is an important safeguard to stop important system files being deleted by accident.

There is almost certainly bound to be some junk (leftover bits and pieces) on your system that is doing nothing but taking up space. I would recommend that you run CCleaner. Install it, update it, check the default setting in the left-hand pane, Analyze, Run Cleaner. You may be fairly surprised by how much it finds.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and also an Uninstall Log:

Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click Save List (generates uninstall_list.txt)
Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

and I will take another look.
