~Smacks forehead on table~

Disconnect from the internet.

Replace rasphone.pbk like we did earlier on with the one I attached.

Then fix :
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{479AF3AA-EAEA-4013-82A5-475409FEB5F0}: NameServer = 69.50.166.94 69.31.80.244

Then reconnect and check if it stayed away.

Then reboot and check again.

Then connect and check once more.

Let me know,

Not yet. :tazz:

There must be some file hiding. Please download RKFiles from here:
http://skads.org/special/rkfiles.zip
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode and run RKFiles.bat. It may take a while. When it is finished a windows should appear with a log.

Restart your computer in normal mode, and please post the contents of the logfile, which should be at c:\log.txt.

You can delete this one:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dnsping.bck

Then click Start > Run > type or copy&paste regedit /e c:\racpro.txt "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile" >OK

This will create the file c:\racpro.txt
Please post the content.

Oh yeah, I was doing an ad-aware scan 5 minutes ago and KAV popped up with a little box saying 'trojan detected'. The file was that 'dnsping' but the box disapearred before I had time to read it properly and delete it. The box usually stays up.

Find the file in explorer and rightclick the file.
Hold down the Shift key and choose "Delete"

Although KAV may have deleted it already. I did send them the file after I received it from you.

OK proceed to this part:
Then click Start > Run > type or copy&paste regedit /e c:\racpro.txt "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile" >OK

This will create the file c:\racpro.txt
Please post the content.

Then delete c:\log.txt and make a new one.
That will show us if it's really gone.

Hold on I'm just taking a step backwards here. Last night when I changed rasphone again the internet worked for a bit but when I tried to connect later on it wouldnt connect. Therefore I had to revert back to the old rasphone in order to get online. I just tried changing it again and the same thing happened so I'm using the old one again. What I have just discovered is that the 017 line is not there when Im offline but appears as soon as I connect but strangely disappears again if I disconnect again. So it's only actually present when Im online. Do you want me to go ahead with the next step even though I'm using the old rasphone?

No. Hang on a bit.
If the entry is only there when you are online, then it could be put there by using that rasphone.pbk

We will have to find the correct entries for your rasphone.pbk

When I made you a new .pbk I assumed from your log that your provider was virgin.net in the UK

Was that wrong?

Is there anyway you know off that you can find the correct DNS servers for your provider? (Maybe a installation manual or something similar)

Ah ok. I used to be with virgin but I'm with wanadoo broadband (uk)now. I can't find anything telling me what the dns servers are but I could maybe phone them and ask.
