My friend cannot install Call of Duty 2 on his desktop. He has passed min requirements to run the game and has installed the game successfully before using the same cd. This time, while installing, it says it cannot read iw_13.iwd.

The same cd has been used to successfully install the game to another laptop just before installing it to the desktop.

THanks.

the cd is either dirty or scratched. It also could be that your desktop cd/dvd drive is having problems. You can try coping the cd directly to the hard drive and then install from there and see what happens.
