I have a Hi Grade notebook computer running Windows XP. It is a widescreen model, and I usually have the screen with a resolution of 1280 x1024. When it is on my desk, I attach an external 4:3 monitor(Phillips 170s), and ideally like a screen resolution of 1280x800. However, sometimes I can achieve this; other times when I switch on I can only get a resolution of 1024x768. I have loaded the drivers for the monitor on my laptop. Any ideas why the resolution just randomly switches and how I can keep it at the resolution I want!

Thanks.
