I have installed Windows Media Player 11 and VLC Media Player.

I do not want to install Real Player OR Apple Quick Time.

Which Codec Pack do I need ?

Also would you recommend K Lite Mega Pack as a good choice ?

Thanks

I've found the Cole2K Media Pack to be extremely reliable, as it has no hacked codecs. You can also get something called Media Player Classic which works very well and also comes in versions called Realplayer Alternative and Quicktime Alternative, so it can be made to play both those formats. Media Player Classic is the best tool I've seen for making screen captures of movies. There is also an application called GSpot Codec Appliance which is very useful as it not only tells you what codecs you need for a file but much other useful information. All of these are freeware.

Hello,

I have used KLite, Vista Codec Pack (Which also works on XP), CCP and AC3Filter. Between those codec packs i have not come across a file that WMP or VLC can not play.

Cheers,
Mak
